Fifty years of history, a proud and satisfying milestone reached by RAASM - Realizzazioni Artigiane Articoli Speciali Meccanici, a company based in San Zeno di Cassola, in the province of Vicenza, an international leader in the development of equipment for the management and advanced handling of fluids.
An anniversary celebrated with a great party, which saw owner Giovanni Menon, his wife, Maria Todesco, and daughter Lorenza, company manager, welcome employees and their families to the RAASM Park Oasis surrounding the plant, on Saturday 20th September, for a day dedicated to the union between company and nature.
The perfect integration between industry and the environment
Because RAASM is above all this: a unique example of integration between industrial production and environmental awareness.
This is thanks to Giovanni Menon, who, over the decades, has created a large botanical site around the buildings that export 90% of the products worldwide, making biodiversity a guiding principle.
The park has thus become a migratory stopover and ecological corridor for various species of birds, but also a natural environment where numerous other species of animals have found their permanent habitat.
And where the large RAASM family gathered in a truly bucolic setting, with children of all ages, the employees' children, engaged in a treasure hunt in which they ran around the meadows looking for the trees indicated on a special map, so that each one could be given its own name. A fun educational game to encourage young people to “take ownership” of nature. But the real highlight of the day was the touching surprise that the employees had organized for their manager: an imposing olive tree, a “symbol of peace, rebirth, resistance and hope”, which “arrived” at the party on board a lorry. Everyone present was also amazed by the agreed flyover of several vintage aircraft returning from the afternoon event at Thiene airport. Finally, the cutting of the large cake, during which Giovanni Menon thanked everyone, including suppliers and customers.
‘Looking at RAASM, they can proudly say that they have contributed to the creation of this unusual industrial jewel,’ he remarked. ‘An industrial jewel immersed and in harmony with a great ecological reality, a botanical park rich in wildlife, so much so that it can be defined as an industrial oasis.’.
The future lies in the union between man and the environment
Founded in 1975 by entrepreneur Giovanni Menon, RAASM is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It is fair to say that time has flown by, just like the white storks that nest in the Oasis Park, becoming one of the symbols of the magical union between the company and nature.
The history was retraced last Saturday, 20th September, during the celebrations for RAASM's fiftieth anniversary.
The owner, Giovanni Menon, recalled the company's birth and the first steps of its long journey, when RAASM produced its very first product: Jollyfren brake and clutch bleeder for cars and trucks.
Since then, the company has come a long way. And for an industrial enterprise so deeply committed to caring for the environment, nature was the obvious choice to feature in its 50th anniversary celebrations.
In a letter of thanks addressed to all employees, suppliers and customers on the company's 50th anniversary, Giovanni Menon highlighted the epochal changes that have taken place over the past half-century during which society has moved from oil lighting to the advent of Artificial Intelligence.
RAASM, which started out in a small cowshed, now operates in over one hundred countries around the world, thanks to its technological products for fluid management and electricity distribution.
Fifty years of history and pride are behind us. Now it is time to think about the future.
